About this sailing adventure
Granite boulders worn smooth by the Indian Ocean, water so clear the anchor chain throws a shadow on the sand below, and a beach that belongs to nobody until your dinghy touches it. The Seychelles sit far out off East Africa: 115 islands with nothing but ocean in between. The sailing here is short and easy: Mahe to Praslin, Praslin to La Digue, Curieuse to Sainte Anne, hops of a couple of hours, flat turquoise water inside the reefs, steady trade winds and no swell to fight. Along the way: Anse Source d'Argent and Anse Lazio, two of the most photographed beaches on the planet, both quiet again once the day boats leave. Giant tortoises walking free on Curieuse. Turtles and rays passing under the hull while you snorkel straight off the transom. Warm water all year, no long passages, no experience required.
