What's included in the price
Here's what most trips include — and what to confirm with your captain before you go.
Usually included
Skipper time on board
Your captain's expertise and time during the trip, including pre-trip safety briefing.
Boat and basic equipment
Use of the boat, life jackets, standard navigation gear, and required safety equipment.
Fuel for the agreed route
Fuel for the route you agreed on. If you ask for a longer detour, the captain may add the extra fuel cost — confirm in chat.
Often included (check listing)
Light meals or snacks
Many trips include refreshments — listings will say what's offered.
Water and basic drinks
Often available on board. Premium drinks usually cost extra.
Not typically included
Optional marina fees
If you ask the captain to dock somewhere extra, those marina fees may be passed on.
Captain tip
Optional but customary — typically 5–10% if you enjoyed the trip.
Personal travel to the harbor
Getting yourself to the meeting point is on you.
How payment works
Pay the captain directly
SailsSearch doesn't take a commission and doesn't process payments. The price you see is what you agree with the captain — shown either per person or for the whole boat, and settled by cash, bank transfer, or any method you both prefer. Use chat to confirm the details.
