How SailsSearch works
Travelers find a verified captain, talk to them directly, and sail. Captains stay in control of their trips, their pricing, and their payments. We just connect the two — and step in when someone wants help.
For travelers
Search and discover
Browse public sailing trips by destination, date range, and crew size, or use the map view to explore offerings near you.
Request and chat
Send a request and chat with the captain to confirm route, what's included, and price. SailsSearch never handles money — you settle directly with your captain in whatever way you both prefer.
Sail and review
Show up at the marina, sail with the captain and crew, and share an honest review afterwards to help other travelers.
For captains
List your boat or trip
Create your activity in minutes — pick boat type, route, dates, your price (per person or for the whole boat), and what's included. New captains can publish without uploading documents — those listings go to review and are published once we verify your details.
Get requests and chat
Confirm or decline incoming requests, message travelers directly, and manage your calendar from one place. Use chat to agree on payment terms with each traveler.
Settle directly with travelers
Take payment directly from your travelers — cash, bank transfer, or any method you both agree on. SailsSearch is free for captains and never takes a cut of your work.
What makes the platform trustworthy
Verified captains and boats
We check captain identity, sailing licenses, boat registration, and insurance before allowing public listings.
Two-way reviews
Both captains and travelers can review each other after a trip — keeping standards high across the community.
Human support
If anything goes sideways before, during, or after a trip, write to info@sailssearch.com or message us in chat. A real person on our team replies — usually within one business day.
